I had a dream come true this weekend…I earned the privilege of speaking on the stage at a workshop run by Rejuvenate Training.
It was my job to share my story, my wisdom & my offer and to leave the audience in a better place than I found them. I had 12 minutes in which to do it…talk about a tall order!
I planned to speak after lunch on Friday.
Now, when I lead my own workshops I am very careful about what I eat. This must have escaped my mind when I arrived at lunch starving, ate something with cream sauce and 100 sweet potato fries with horseradish.
After lunch when I was back in the workshop I was able to listen to one of my mentors share some valuable information right before it was my turn to speak. I was surrounded by people and found my self unbuttoning my pantsas I slouched in my seat, hoping I wouldn’t throw up. Cream, sweet potatoes and horseradish kept gurgling in my belly. “Oh, Boy”, I thought, “I’m about to experience a dream come true and here I sit with my pants unbuttoned…lovely…”
Then it was my turn and I took the stage. I forgot about my tummy and focused on my audience. I didn’t use PowerPoint, I didn’t write on the Flip Chart and I spoke from my heart.
I shared my story of transformation, my greatest secret for attracting clients and my offer. I ended exactly at 11 minutes and 59 seconds. And then, 24 people ran to the back to sign up to work with me and join me in this journey. In the speaking industry, this is called a “table rush”.
It was amazing!
I was glad to be done. I was glad I remembered to button my pants. I was thrilled to connect with and help so many people.
There was another surprise…
Marcia Martin was in the audience. She heard me speak. And she said I was “brilliant”. Wow.
When I consider the transformation I offer for my audience I do not take it for granted. I do not think “I’m all that” and I am most humble. Most of all, I am grateful. When I offer transformation it is because I have had the privilege of being transformed. I have many to thank for that and Sharla Jacobs and Jesse Koren are at the top of the list.
I spent 4 days in this workshop alternating between confident and nervous, student and expert, participant and leader. I connected with new friends, new clients, joint venture partners and continue to step out of my comfort zone.
As Marcia said, “See the impossible as possible.”
This month I launch my largest workshop to date and step into that success and the “side” of Possibility in many ways.
One way is that I have advanced from “DJ Hello Kitty” to “DJ Sage”. This means that instead of having my assistant play music on my daughter’s pink Hello Kitty boom box, I will have a fabulous DJ and offer an even greater experience for my workshop participants.
Another way I step into Possibility is with the big announcement I’ll make at the end of this month. Some know it is coming and some wonder what I am talking about…it is by far the most generous gift I could offer and yes, the suspense will continue!
As I continue to absorb the impact of the last 4 days and look forward to the next 4 weeks I want to say thank you to my teachers and thank you to my students. We are in this together and transformation is more than just possible, it is our reality!
Carpe Diem My Friends!!
