Play Nice in the Sandbox with Brandy Mychals
Joint Ventures, Strategic Alliances, Promotional Partners…
These all mean slightly different things, but are often used interchangeably. So… how can you benefit from working with others as a solo-preneur– sharing clients and venues, for example– without unnecessary drama?
Sometimes, a Joint Venture might not show up and play nice. Instead, they might change plans at the last minute.
What do you do when that happens?
Be direct: make every situation a strategic win-win for you both. You can do that by playing nice in the sandbox. Plus, by “playing nice” you will get the best reward of all: relationships that you will cherish!
So: have your own sense of integrity and have fun… but play nice.
Love your friend,
Brandy

This is a very dog-like message, Brandy, & I love it! There’s nothing like having a great, dependable team surrounding your efforts (and helping with their’s), and working together Honestly & with Integrity is key. As you said, those are your “cherished relationships”. And the beauty of being an entrepreneur is when folks don’t live up to their commitments or they’re just not fun to play with anymore, you can gracefully extract yourself. I’ve done that quite a few times (need a no drama zone around business & relationships!).
Cheers to your success!!

“commentary to give you paws…”
Great tips Brandy. I have wanted to do joint ventures but wasn’t sure who to align with. Just recently, two opportunities opened up and as I move forward, I will keep your advise in mind.
I am so wary of JVs, partnerships etc because I have tried to do a few and have encountered what you are talking about. I have learned to have a contract and have good conversations before we commit and I have learned to be impeccable with my word as Don Miguel Ruiz says.
